Election 2017: “I’m worried for our future” – Aaron Dahmen fronts media as Winnie coalition talks continue

TADS Host Aaron Dahmen is worried New Zealand will not have the leader it deserves after a tumultuous election result.

Talks of a coalition are underway with Winston Peters and New Zealand First after neither major party gained a majority in the September 23rd election.

In an interview with Loveit Media for RNZ, Dahmen said he is worried New Zealand will have a front-runner “who won’t be delivering for New Zealanders.”

“We need a New Zealand where our young people are given the resources and opportunities to grow.”

Dahmen believes empowering the next generation is crucial for a country “relying on youth to front up.”

“Young people need to be allowed the freedom to grow themselves, with the support of a well-structured and socially-focussed government.”

Dahmen said New Zealand needs to utilise what it has, instead of looking elsewhere or overseas.

“We need to give our people the chance to make an impact.”

“Otherwise, I’m very worried for what the future may hold.”
